Development of a logistics concept for the extension of the GSI Helmholtzzentrum for heavy ion research with a Facility for Antipron and Ion Reserarch (FAIR)

The GSI Helmholtzzentrum in Darmstadt, Germany, will extend their facilities by a new particle accelerator, that allows for world-wide one-of-a-kind experiments.

A special site logistics concept for the construction of the partly sub terrestrial research facility was necessary in order to meet the specific requirements for traffic movement and land utilisation.

The underlying logistics control system was recorded in a logistical manual and served as a basis for the planning and tender process of the numerous construction site units.
