LMBG Takes on Key Role in Construction and Logistics Planning at Frankfurt Central Station
As part of the DB InfraGO Master Plan, Frankfurt Central Station will undergo comprehensive modernization by 2034, preparing it for the future of rail transport. Managing construction logistics at one of Europe’s busiest transport hubs presents an exceptional challenge, particularly due to its central city location and limited space.
LMBG GmbH has been commissioned to support the overall logistical planning and coordination for the upcoming construction projects. This involves not only coordinating material flows and ensuring the supply security of individual projects, but above all, achieving cross-project synchronization between internal DB initiatives and adjacent infrastructure projects, such as the four-track expansion of the tram system.
As an experienced partner in strategic construction logistics, LMBG develops tailored concepts to avoid bottlenecks, optimize workflows, and keep construction schedules and budgets balanced. Special emphasis is placed on the early integration of all stakeholders – from construction supervision and planners to executing contractors – ensuring that the logistical infrastructure meets the high demands of a project of this scale.
With its expertise, LMBG makes a decisive contribution to the realization of the Frankfurt Central Station Master Plan and supports Deutsche Bahn in implementing one of Germany’s most significant infrastructure projects efficiently and sustainably.
The project is scheduled to run initially until 2026.
